<p>It&#8217;s probably safe to say that half of all Americans need to, or want to, lose weight. Just as an example, look at the overwhelming popularity of the TV show &#8220;The Biggest Loser.&#8221; Certainly those contestants represent extreme situations. But maybe you just want to drop 10 pounds, mainly so your current wardrobe still fits attractively. As mentioned above, other people have significant weight problems and need to lose 50 pounds or more. Besides physical appearance, health concerns are a major motivational factor. Once you develop a pattern of chronic overeating, with a penchant for sweets, fatty foods and other junk type foods that are so tantalizing and addictive, it can become a very difficult habit to break. Many people are under the false impression that they can eat whatever they want as long as they exercise. The rationale is that when you employ the exercise to lose weight program, you&#8217;re burning calories, so you&#8217;ll reach your goal without changing your diet, or at least not by much. It won&#8217;t work. Let&#8217;s see why.</p>
<p>1. What does exercise accomplish in a weight loss program?</p>
<p>Whether you need to shed 10, 50 or 100 pounds, the bottom line is that your body has excess fat. An exercise program can burn off that excess fat, while toning flabby muscles and providing benefits to your cardiovascular system. On the other hand, if you only modify your diet and don&#8217;t exercise, as weight loss occurs, you&#8217;ll be left with sagging skin all over your body, which is not an attractive outcome.</p>
<p>2. Exercise alone won&#8217;t get you to your goal.</p>
<p>Why? Going back to the example of the &#8216;Biggest Losers&#8217; TV show, you might remember this little twist. After partners had spent time at the program&#8217;s official weight loss and training center, one of the couples from each &#8216;team&#8217; were sent home for one month to see how they did on their own. Some, who adhered to both the diet and exercise regimens on their own, lost significant weight, while others, who abandoned the diet, but worked out for hours every day, lost no more than a few pounds! That&#8217;s proof that when you exercise alone to lose weight the results can be disappointing. A healthy diet must also be included in order to achieve success.</p>
<p>3. How does a healthy diet program affect weight loss?</p>
<p>The bottom line to losing weight is reducing your caloric intake. If you reduce your daily intake by 500 calories, you&#8217;ll lose about a pound a week. When you don&#8217;t drop the sugar laden foods, those calories turn right back into fat. When you add plenty of fiber-rich, complex carbohydrates, you get a reversal of this effect. The calories these foods contain often require that your body burn more calories than the food contains. So you realize a net reduction in calories consumed. Add in the exercise to lose weight factor and you&#8217;ve effectively reduced your calorie consumption across the board, resulting in safe and maximum weight loss.</p>
<p>So if you&#8217;re serious about losing weight, diet and exercise must work hand in hand. Don&#8217;t fool yourself into thinking that exercise alone is sufficient to achieve the weight loss results you desire.</p>

<p>Too much sugar intake has a detrimental effect on the skin. Sugar makes your skin lose its elasticity and worse, it can lead to illnesses. Excess sugar in the blood causes a process called glycation (sometimes called non-enzymatic glycosylation). In this process glucose attaches itself to proteins in the cells until they become nonfunctional. All cells in the body contain protein and when sugars attach to proteins, the cells cannot work effectively.</p>
<p>Our body’s protein content is about 25% collagen and glycation tears down the collagen making the skin lose its elasticity causing it to sag and wrinkle.</p>
<p>High consumption of sugar can spike the body’s blood sugar, a condition called hyperglycemia. Frequent hyperglycemic condition can cause type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and other kinds of illnesses.</p>
<p>Sugar contains much calories and too much consumption can make you gain weight.  Avoiding sugary foods and drinks therefore could be one of the best ways to lose weight with the added benefit of making you healthy and looking younger.</p>

Getting the right kind of food enables our bodies to properly regulate the blood sugar levels. I don&#8217;t recommend that. It&#8217;s not healthy to eat several meals a day; that would overburden our digestive system. Eating 3 meals a day is enough. But remember to eat a good breakfast and not skip it. Also eat a light and early dinner.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The main problem in trying to lose weight is that most of us eat more that what we really need. Our food intake must be less than what our body use up; that is the right way to lose weight.</p>

The body responds to not eating food for many hours by “slowing down,” decreasing its metabolic rate and burning fewer calories to conserve energy. Skipping breakfast is bad for health because people who skip it tend to eat unhealthy snacks and/or eat more at lunch or at dinner and graze throughout the day; with slowed metabolism and with more food eaten, more calories is retained by the body resulting in weight increase.</span></p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Controversial as it may sound, but there is really little difference  between <a href="http://500caloriedietplan.com/" target="_blank">dieting for men and dieting for women</a>. Perhaps an element of  scale, whereby a marginally overweight man usually doesn&rsquo;t even notice,  or if it is pointed out to him, just wears looser clothing and grows a  stubble. Of course the stubble option to look cooler and thinner isn&rsquo;t  really on for a woman, and the &lsquo;marginally&rsquo; overweight issue is one of  grave concern and anxiety.</p>
<p>Ordinarily the stress of a few unwanted pounds would lead to a  stimulated feedback whereby unconscious fasting and food avoidance leeds  to weight loss. Equally, such stress could and does lead to increased  chocolate consumption which feeds back in the wrong direction. This also  brings into force a little-known effect which means that every calorie  consumed whilst known that it is being consumed actually counts for two  calories. One which is metabolised and one which becomes fat faster than  a politician can use a black marker pen on his expenses claim. A diet  plan is the solution. Daily, weekly, whatever, as long as it is a plan  and you stick to it.</p>
<p>The trouble with diet plans in the past is that this  eat-one-get-one-free calorie rule still counts; the only way to be truly  free from this freakinsh truism of nature is to ignore completely your  total colorific intake. This then reduces weight loss to a popular  physical sciences question of whether the fat is actually there or not.  In other words, you may appear thinner, but the scales will still  indicate that you are overweight. Not looking at the scales, and simply  thinking yourself thinner, whilst eating goodly amounts of foods you  like is much more likely to work.</p>
<p>Exercising helps, but if that is out of the question, there is  nothing wrong with the odd weight-loss pill. That said, if you can get  placebos and believe they will work, then that is better than actually  taking real drugs. Starting to smoke may also work, as that will kill  you at some point, although that is an extreme way of trying to lose  weight. So son&rsquo;t do that, and if you smoke already, stop now.</p>
<p>More practically, the single best place to <a href="http://500caloriedietplan.com/" target="_blank">start losing weight</a> is  with being honest with yourself. How? Simples&hellip;when you are on your own  for any length of time, change out of your loose clothing and wear  something that used to fit OK. You might end up with stomach ache, and  if so, undo the belt and/or button or whatever. This exercise will  demonstrate that however thin you think you are or want to be, you  probably aren&rsquo;t. If this sounds a bit psychic, it&rsquo;s not because if you  wear the clothes for the thinner you and feel OK, you wouldn&rsquo;t be doing  it in private would you?</p>
<p>The next thing to consider, before going on a diet plan, is what  &lsquo;goodies&rsquo; you eat that you don&rsquo;t need to. Well, that&rsquo;s just about  everything outside of a normal meal. Every chocolate bar, every packet  of crisps (or chips), every bun or sugary drink. All of it. Literally,  all of it all the time. You can have some back when you&rsquo;re thinner, but  if you want to start losing weight, lose the junk food.</p>
<p>That might sound hard, but it isn&rsquo;t anywhere near as hard a actually  dieting. And magically, the inverse eat-one-get-one-free calorie rule  comes into play. For every one of those chocolate calories you didn&rsquo;t  eat, a whole other calorie disappears for free. This means, that you  lose more than one chocolate bar in fat for every chocolate bar you  don&rsquo;t eat.</p>
<p>See, weight loss is easy. There&rsquo;s one down side though, and without  wishing to return to the smoking analogy, it does have relevance. Being  overweight has a certain gravity to it. And gravity draws heavy objects  together, and then they sort of feed around one another and seeing as  everyone&rsquo;s fat and everyone&rsquo;s feeding, everyone feels in their comfort  zone. As soon as you stop eating with the in-crowd, you won&rsquo;t be in the  in crowd and that will be uncomfortable. Like non-smokers really very  rarely have a close group of smoker friends; if you lose weight, you  will increasingly seek out thinner friends and this is an issue.</p>
<p>It is also an issue when you&rsquo;re in a transition state, and your  marginally (OK let&rsquo;s go for it: massively) fat friends are passing out  the buns or the ecclairs or the brandy twirls, and you say &lsquo;no.&rsquo; To be  clear, you will have to feign illness for some time. Those of us who&rsquo;ve  had kids will remember this effect well when you&rsquo;re out with your mates,  pregnant but not admitting it. You know who you are.</p>
<p>This is the same thing, only it&rsquo;s fat not alcohol you need to avoid.</p>
<p>Now, although you will <a href="http://500caloriedietplan.com/" target="_blank">lose weight</a> doing any or all of the above  (unless you are pregnant); you will wish to seek out a suitable diet  plan, of which there are many, some better than others.</p>
